Pune.  Women today are excelling in every field. They are pursuing higher education and making their mark in various sectors. However, despite their achievements, they still face discrimination at workplaces. Nevertheless, if given the right opportunities and strong family support, women have the power to achieve even the impossible. This was the view expressed by Dr. Preeti Pachpande, Trustee of the Audyogik Shikshan Mandal (ASM) Education Group.

She was speaking at the Outstanding Women Award Ceremony organized by MIT Art, Design, and Technology University on the occasion of International Women’s Day. The event was graced by distinguished guests, including Dr. Preeti Pachpande, Dr. Shailaja Saxena (Business Head, Reliance Life Sciences), Prof. Dr. Mohit Dubey (Pro-Vice Chancellor, MIT-ADT University), Dr. Renu Vyas (Principal, MIT School of Bioengineering), and Dr. Ashwini Pethe.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Saxena emphasized the importance of women’s education, stating, “As scholars have said, an educated woman uplifts two families. Therefore, parents should never compromise on their daughters’ education. I began my Ph.D. research when my child was just a year old. While taking care of my baby, I completed my research and even established my own testing lab during the COVID-19 pandemic. This proves that with family support, a woman can bring about significant societal change, even after becoming a mother.”

The program began with a World Peace Prayer and was followed by captivating dance performances by university students, celebrating women’s contributions to society. The event concluded with a recitation of Pasaydan (a traditional Marathi prayer for universal welfare).
